It’s another warm one! Not quite as bad as yesterday, and luckily we have aircon in the dorm room tonight, but there are flies in our room today and that almost makes it just as bad.
We had a quick breakfast at the albergue this morning before we left (just before 6:00am), and then a proper breakfast about an hour down the road. Of course, Toni from Barcelona was there, and he told us all about this “adventures” of the morning: getting lost, having to hitch a ride back to the trail, leaving his phone behind in the car… somehow he did get his phone back, but I didn’t catch that part of his story. Much more interesting than our morning of walk along the trail and stop for breakfast!
The day continued just as uneventfully – no spectacular views or interesting encounters, just walking up and down the endless hills that now make up the Camino. We stopped again after around 20km for a cold drink, which is always appreciated, and then continued on to our albergue for the night. Unfortunately, it’s about half a kilometre away from the Camino trail, but I think we can just walk along the road in the morning and meet the trail along the way a bit so as to not need to backtrack.
We spent the afternoon in the usual way: shower, laundry, nap, dinner. Just about bedtime now – our last night in a shared dorm! Slightly longer day tomorrow, but at least it isn’t forecast to be in the 30s again. And then we’re in Santiago!
