We left early, knowing we had to make up the extra distance that we didn’t walk yesterday. Between Boadilla del Camino and Frómista we walked along a canal for much of the way, which was quite nice. This was to be the peaceful part of our day as the next 20km from Frómista to Carrión de los Condes was entirely along the side of a main road.
The walk today was very straight and very flat… there’s not much more to say about, I’m afraid! As a result I also didn’t take many photos. We met some more kiwis during our refreshment stop – at one point there were six kiwis in the cafe, it feels a bit like we’re taking over!
The albergue we’re staying at, like most in this town, is run by nuns. It’s one of just two places we’ve stayed where sleeping arrangements are separated by gender (the other was the church-run albergue in Santi Domingo), and also one of the few that has separate men’s and women’s bathrooms. They don’t do a communal dinner, so we bought some microwave lasagne from the supermarket and ate it with a quarter of a watermelon.
