Hi hi!

So I haven’t written on this thing in almost a month.. oops. But how crazy is that!? That a month can just zoom by like that. Nothing interesting has even happened in that month, really. Since I’ve been back from Thailand I feel like school has taken over my life. The most interesting things would probably be finding chicken breast in the supermarket, the supermarket being out of carrots, a halloween party, and my discovery of apple vinegar drinks. Such excitement!

Where shall I start…. Apple vinegar? I saw it in the supermarket one day and it sounded scary so I forgot about it until I saw one of the other teachers drinking it, so I tried it. It’s actually quite nice! I have no idea what’s in it though. Until today I just had the plain old apple flavoured apple vinegar, but just now after school I went to check again to see if the supermarket had carrots, and I bought blueberry flavoured apple vinegar! It’s a little weird, but still nice! Also, I went to a different supermarket, and they had about 8 carrots in stock. I bought 3 of them. Thrilling stuff :P

Halloween week was pretty crazy. I decided to do halloween lessons all week so that none of my kids missed out, and they seemed to quite enjoy that. On actual halloween I had hoards of kids coming to my office yelling “trick or treat” and shoving their hands in my face, so at lunch time I ran down to the supermarket and got a big bag of pick and mix lollies haha. That evening I went and saw the grade 4 class all dressed up for their halloween scavenger hunt, and then on Friday night was the CTLC halloween party. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos unless someone else decides to load some onto Facebook, coz I didn’t take any myself.

Halloween was also the day of my first teaching observation. One of the coordinators came and sat in on one of my 6th grade classes. I also substituted my halloween lesson for something a bit more standard. It seemed to go quite well, so I’m quite happy about that.

A few days now I’ve gone to watch the after school dance class, though I’m not really going any more as it never changes and is quite boring, really. The kids are pretty awesome dancers though! Their posture and technique isn’t all that great, but they move amazingly, and I have never seen kids so flexible! Probably half the kids in this school can do the splits!

I don’t really know what else to tell you all about… as I say it’s been a bit quiet. I’ll give you a few photos, though a couple might need explaining. The monster was for a grade 1 lesson on body parts, where they told me how many of each body part they wanted, and I drew the monster. They thought this was about the most hilarious thing ever.  The sushi lady is one of the parents who brought sushi for the teachers’ afternoon tea! It was quite delicious. The wee note is from one of my grade 2 kids, David, who is a super sweet kid and brings me picture books to my office that he then asks me to read for him. I guess that’s it?
